My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella is on a Patient Paw Sleepover with her Potential Adopter

**Bella is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and possibility of a sleepover**

Age: 1 year
Weight: 27.8kg / 61.3lbs

A bit about Bella:
- Kids okay; all interactions should be supervised by an adult
- No history with cats, prey drive previously displayed to small animals; all introductions should be done slowly over a period of time and all interactions supervised by an adult
- Limited history with other dogs; potential for select dog in home pending successful introduction

Say hello to Bella, the sweet little girl looking for her furever home. After coming to the Calgary Humane Society when her previous owners were no longer able to care for her, Bella has enjoyed the attention of those around her. Though she can be a bit selective of her dog friends, Bella has been around other dogs before and thus may do okay with a canine friend, or as the sole attention of your world! She has also lived with kids before and was described as being very gentle with them by her previous owner. She does have a history of prey drive around small animals, so adopters should be aware of the management needed for this. If this sounds like the joyful bundle of fluff to lighten up your home, come meet Bella at the Calgary Humane Society today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
