Meet Daisy, a 1-year-old DSH who is an absolute sweetheart!

She is a playful kitten with lots of love to give and would most likely get along with another cat, however does not do well with dogs. She is currently available for Foster-to-Adopt as the staff are still trying to find the perfect food for her gastrointestinal issues. Daisy must be fed a special hydrolyzed protein diet because of these issues. Daisy is also currently in a foster home, if interested in Daisy, please reach out to the shelter to set up a time to meet her!

All animals available for adoption at HSPHE have been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered, and have been treated for internal/external parasites.
Adopters will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ren's Pets and a pet care booklet from Pet Valu with coupons worth up to $300. Cat adoptions will also receive a coupon for a free 7LB bag of World's Best Cat Litter from Ren's Pets. Plus, adopters who bring the paperwork from their HSHPE adoption to PetSmart Belleville or Kingston will receive a booklet with coupons worth up to $300.

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.

Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward is a non-profit animal shelter serving Hastings & Prince Edward Counties. Each year we assist as many as 2000 animals in need. We provide a safe, caring environment for stray, surrendered, neglected or abused animals. We return hundreds of lost animals to their families, adopt out animals who are in need of a new home and provide medical care and other necessities for animals in distress.
