Hazel is a sweet girl with an interesting smile. She is crate trained, she will use a pee pad if it is left down. Hazel's great on leash but long distance running is NOT her thing. Hazel loves car rides. She is submissive around other dogs and does well around cats. She loves laying on her back on the couch more than anything. She enjoys chewing on bones. If you're looking for a friend to lounge around with, Hazel is your girl!

Adoption applications are required and are available on our website. We do require references and interview potential adopters. All animals will be current on the vaccinations, microchipped and be either spayed or neutered before the adoption is finalized.
Our dog adoption fees range from $150.00 to $275.00 depending on the age of the dog. Cat adoption fees are $50.00.

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. We do not receive public or government funding, and no monies from national humane organizations or county, state or federal government funds. Our work depends solely on grants, fundraisers, adoptions, private funding, memberships and donations. The fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing an animal for placement into a new home. We value every animal equally and consider all to be priceless
