My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sunni

Sunni is a young puppy about 17 weeks old with a beautiful, fluffy coat who needs a loving home. She is a baby, so she will require a lot of patience and care, but the reward will be worth it. Sunni is a sweet dog who is good with other dogs and loves to play with them.
Sunni has been crate training and doing very well. She is going to be a big girl, so if you're looking for a big fluffy best friend, Sunni is the dog for you. Sunni is looking for a home that can provide her with the love and care she needs. If you think you can give her a forever home, please come and meet her!

More about this rescue

Henry County Humane Society (HCHS) is an all volunteer run, no-kill animal shelter located in McDonough,GA.

HCHS was founded in 1979 and functioned as a foster home based rescue group until 2005. In 2005 Henry County Splost Funds were used to build a new animal control shelter and Henry County's Board of Commissioners granted HCHS use of the former animal control building. After a complete renovation, the Henry County Humane Society shelter opened as a happy safe haven for Henry County's homeless pets.

HCHS depends entirely on private donations, fundraisers and adoption fees to carry out its mission. HCHS is a private organization, not a county agency, and receives no government funding nor any funding from national humane organizations. Donations can be made via PayPal from a link on our homepage at www.henryhumane.com or mailed to HCHS, PO Box 941, McDonough, GA 30253. Donations are much appreciated!

HCHS is a non-profit organization and licensed by the Georgia State Department of Agriculture.

HCHS rescues animals facing euthansia from the county run Animal Control shelter. Animals in our care are given age appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and treated with capstar and/or frontline.

Dogs are also heartworm negative (treated for heartworms if tested positive) and are microchipped.

Cats are also feline leukemia (Felv) and feline AIDS (FIV) negative.

Pediatric spaying and neutering is performed on puppies and kittens as young as 8 weeks old.
