My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppy is a female American Staffordshire Terrier.  She was a stray that kept getting passed around for a few weeks before she ended up with a homeless man.  He  tied her to a pole in the sun and extreme heat and left her.  A good samaritan saved her and took her home to foster.  Poppy weighs around 60 pounds and estimated to be 5 years old.  Poppy is crate trained, housebroken, and loves attention.  She gets along with other dogs and loves to play.  She is kid friendly and has been good with the foster's 6 year old son.  Poppy is cat tested and has been good around the foster's cat.  Poppy walks well on leash but will pull.  She was easily corrected, but could use a little more work.  She loves to go for car rides according to her foster.  Poppy is in the Syracuse area and available for meets.  Poppy's adoption fee is $225, which covers spaying at our vet, microchip, vaccines, and medical care up until adoption.

More about this rescue

In 2018 a group of animal lovers got together to form a special animal rescue.

Every year millions of pets are surrendered to animal shelters and ultimately euthanized. In NY state alone thousands of dogs and cats are neglected, abandoned , homeless , and left in shelters. Seven was one of many pets abandoned by the only family he had ever known.

Seventh Heaven Rescue was created to help any animal in need. Our mission is to try to keep dogs out of shelters as well as rescue dogs that have found themselves in shelters. Our goal is to provide them the love , compassion, kindness , dignity and respect as well as medical care they need and deserve.

Our mission is to honor Seven’s memory in the hope that we can help other dogs and any animal in need just like him find loving families. We are strictly a non for profit organization. All donations go directly to those animals in our care.
