My story

Meet Lupine! Lupine aka Lu, is a young adult Shar Pei mix with an estimated birthdate of 5/1/2023. She came to us as an owner surrender when her previous owner could no longer care for her. Lu had severe entropion in both eyes and has since recovered beautifully from her surgical repair and will need no further special care for her eyes.

Lu is decent with other dogs, cats, and children. She is fully kennel trained and knows some basic commands but will need continued training as she continues to mature. Lupine's dog and cat greetings have become very natural over her time with Murci's Mission and she will likely make a good companion for another balanced dog.

Lu is a great dog who can be extremely active or relaxed depending on what her adopter is up to. She is off lead reliable and is a good hiking buddy, can run beside the bike and has done so for up to 7 miles, and she even competed in a sanctioned all breed racing trial and had a blast, coming in second place and showing off her athletic ability and self composure. She is also happy to hang out watching movies and playing in the back yard.

Lupine comes fully vaccinated, spayed, dewormed, and microchipped. She will come home with a leash, collar, and ID tag, a sample of her food, and her medical records. Her adoption fee is $200. To apply to adopt, please submit an application at www.murcismission.org. Thanks for your interest!

Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
