My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Prim, and I'm on the hunt for my forever family here in Minnesota. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I had a pretty tough start in life—my momma and siblings and I lived outside at a house, but one day, the family moved away and took my momma with them, leaving us behind. It was really hard, and only my sister and I survived. But I'm a survivor, and I'm ready to find a loving home!

I may look a bit bigger in pictures, but I'm actually quite small and working hard to put on some weight. I'm a smart cookie and a total foodie, which makes me super easy to train. I’m already picking up on things quickly because, well, I love treats!

Playing with the big dogs at my foster home is a blast, and I'm gentle with the little humans, too. I have this cute habit of giving a gentle nose boop on your hand just to check in—it's my way of saying, "Hey, I'm here!" I love following the resident dogs and people around the house, always wanting to be part of the action.

I'm also doing great sleeping in my kennel. I go in and out during the day, and at night I happily go in for a treat and stay pretty quiet through the night.

I think I'd fit right in with any kind of pack—whether it's a bunch of humans, other dogs, or a mix of both. Oh, and people say I might have some husky in me. I have these super soft ears, the cutest tail, and the coolest eyes—one blue and one brown! They call it heterochromia, which sounds pretty fancy, right?

If you think we could be a match, I'd love to meet you. Let’s make some amazing memories together!

Paws and love, Prim 🐾

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
