My name is Kai!

Meet our handsome Kai!! He was born 1/26/24 in MO. He found himself tossed in a box with his littermate and was about to be thrown in a dumpster when a young college guy from Omaha saw what was happening and saved them. He is believed to be a Doberman Pinscher/Catahoula mix, maybe with some Hound. He currently weighs about 75 lbs. While we don't know the exact ingredients, Kai has a fun personality and is so sweet! He's curious, friendly, goofy, loving, and food motivated. He enjoys having other dogs to interact with, and is often found in the play bow position wagging his tail. He loves everyone! Kai is great with all other dogs and kids. He is crate trained and fully housebroken. He walks well on a leash, but a fenced in yard would be a big plus for him… It’s fun to watch him romp around excitedly with his long tail flying high! Kai will alert you of sounds and suspicions, but isn't overly noisy. He would love another resident dog in the house to play with. Kai is now neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, had an exam and fecal, and is ready for adoption! His adoption donation fee is $375. We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!!
