Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
On a Sunday afternoon in November 2023 we got a call from a young lady who had found a cat stuck in a rat trap. He really needed help! The young lady could not get the kitty to us until her father returned from work later in the afternoon. Not wanting the cat to suffer any longer, a staff member set out to pick up the cat. With pain relief and antibiotics on board, Wishbone was set up in a cozy, warm condo with a vet visit promised for the morning.
The degloved leg was amputated the next day and Wishbone was ordered to have strict cage rest. Being a resilient feline, Wishbone was practicing standing without the limb in record time. When he greets visitors now, they often say they didn't even notice the missing limb. Wishbone plays hard! He's getting better at recognizing when he needs a breather but his adopter will also have to help him understand warp speed and playtime can't been the constant.
Wishbone doesn't mind sharing play time with other cats but he is a solid N-O to snuggling with another kitty. We feel Wishbone would be a-okay being your one and only too. He will need plenty of toys and a large window to keep him entertained. Oh and speaking of entertained, Wishbone's superstar personality sure will keep you occupied and amused. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 6.14 Age: 3yrs 0mths 3wks

More about this shelter
The Cat Welfare Association was founded in 1945 by a small group of people who saw the need for an organization designed specifically to help the many stray and abused cats in the Columbus area. We are a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting better care and understanding of cats while providing for the physical welfare of homeless cats and kittens.
The cats taken into our care are strays and frequently have been abused or injured. We give them plenty of tender loving care along with any necessary medical treatment they might need. Our shelter provides a home for these cats and kittens until they are adopted-- whether it be for a short time or if they live out their lives here.
