Koala is the sweetest little soul! He is very laid back and easy going. He loves to play with his foster friends, but is happy to just snooze the day away too. He`s such an easy puppy.
Koala is a puppy, so he`s working on house training, but he`s getting more reliable with using the doggie doorbells, and as long as you practice good house training habits - taking him out every few hours, after a long nap, 20min after playing, and after eating- he does great and doesn`t have accidents in the house.
Koala is crate trained and LOVES to sleep in his crate. He likes to lounge in there during the day, as well. He also hops right in his crate when it`s time to eat. He`s such a good boy!
Koala is a low key pup who likes to play, but will settle easily with a good chew stick and a fluffy bed. While he does have a decent prey drive, since he`s a puppy and pretty laid back, he could be trained to get along with cats.
Koala would make an excellent friend to a pup already in the home. When his litter was dumped at the Ranch, it was suspected that some of the puppies were seeing/hearing impaired and Koala does show some signs of that. Once he learns your home, where to find the water, food, toys, he`s good to go. Taking him out of the home, he gets slightly nervous and will just need time and patience to show him that while the world might be different, but there`s no reason to fear it. Lots of treats will help him a long! His foster family is committed to finding him the right home, and has offered to be a source of guidance for his future family. Koala is such a good boy, he`d be easy to care for.
To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
