Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a
question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If
interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.
Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable drive from Wilmington, DE for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit.
Meet Mike! Mike is an 8-year-old, 26 lb Beagle who was found at a shelter and brought into our rescue. He was in good health and just needed a new beginning. Mike was neutered and received a dental. He is mostly housebroken but has marked a few times. (He has never pooped in the house though)
Like most Beagles, Mike is determined to follow his nose. A secure 4 to 5 foot fence will be required to keep him safe. Mike walks well on a leash and has no problem with stairs. He has good vision and hearing and gets along great with dogs, cats, and children.
Mike is still learning his manners when it comes to food. He wants his food, your food, and the cat’s food and will beg, borrow, and steal to get it. His foster mom is working with him on this and Mike has made significant improvements in just a few weeks. A patient owner who will keep up training with him is a plus.
Mike doesn’t require any daily prescription medications, but may need Trazadone during thunderstorms or fireworks because he is very scared of loud noises.
Mike enjoys cuddling and being picked up and is also ok doing his own thing. He loves snuggling in bed at night with his foster mom and has the cutest little snore. Mike would love to have someone home with him more often than not so he gets lots of attention. Did we mention how much he loves food?!
This happy, friendly boy deserves a new start in life and we hope it can be with you. Please apply today!
