Meet Mona! This gentle girl came in as a stray and found the shelter to be pretty stressful. In foster, she is a good hider, but also likes to play with her toys at night, perch on the desk to peer outside, and sometimes sleep on the edge of the bed. She'll even chirp in response to a little conversation. This young, beautiful kitty is still skittish with movement and will hide, so would do best in a calm, quiet home with a patient adopter who can give her time and space to come out of her shell in her own time and in her own way.
What this cat needs: · Patience - Shy cats need you to take it slow and give them time to trust on their own terms. · Security - Shy cats feel more secure if they have a quiet, small room with hiding cubbies to start out. · Space - Shy cats need personal space and may not want to interact with you. · Quiet - Shy cats are most comfortable in quiet, calm homes. · Routine - Shy cats feel more settled when they know what to expect. · Acceptance - Shy cats need adopters who are willing to accept them for who they are, even once they adjust and show their true personality. Some may be affectionate, while others may enjoy your company from a distance.

** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **
