My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Buddy!**

Hey y’all, I’m Buddy—and I take my name very seriously! Let me share a bit about my journey and why I’m looking for my forever home. I was found wandering the streets after my family from Houston decided they didn’t want me anymore and left me all alone in San Antonio. Luckily, my current foster sister found me and took me in. They’ve been so good to me, but with a large and busy family, they just don’t have enough time for me to give them all the love I have.

I’m a 4-year-old, 40-pound Terrier mix with a big heart and a gentle nature. I play wonderfully with the baby of the family and my little foster brother—I don’t have a mean bone in my body! I love rolling around in the yard, and I’ll give a few barks to let walkers know not to come near our yard—gotta protect my people, right?

I’m also a well-behaved boy who knows to go straight to my mat in the utility room when I’m let inside. Plus, I’m fully potty trained, so no accidents here!

What I really long for is a home where I can be the best Buddy you’ve ever had. I’ve got so much love to give, and I’m ready to be your loyal companion. Could you be the one to give me the forever home I’ve been dreaming of? If so, please adopt me!
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
