My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**William Snakespeare is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 2.5 years

William Snakespeare is an adult boa constrictor ready to write the next chapter in his life. While William's last chapter was a bit tragic (he arrived slightly underweight and dehydrated) he sees more hopeful stories in his future! Perhaps a romance - the story of the joy he found in a new, spacious home, with an incredible human caretaker providing his every need. Or maybe William Snakespeare will branch out and undertake some non-fiction. Together, you and he can help educate about appropriate care and handling for large snakes. Whatever the story, William looks forward to writing it with you. To keep William happy and enriched, he is looking for a large snake enclosure or room, with options for climbing and stretching out to his full length, along with a heat lamp and UVB bulb of course. Come visit the bard himself, William Snakespeare today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
