Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Jewel has a backstory like so many others. She was left outside to survive on her own. Moving around her neighborhood, crossing streets and just otherwise trying to stay alive. She had not been fixed. We don’t think she ever had vaccines but we aren’t sure… What we do know is that we got her in the nick of time.
You see, she came to us from a local family that helped strays. She went in for routine spay, and other wellness vetting. We found out that she had what you call pyometra. That’s where her uterus was filled with infection. The infection grows until the uterus busts and the cat passes away. Luckily we were able to resolve this issue before that happened. She also tested positive for FIV. She is otherwise healthy. Cats with FIV can be around negative cats. It’s only transferred through bite wounds. She likely got it during mating. Feel free to ask us for more info.
She absolutely adores human beings. She would rather not be around other cats, but she could live with one other. She likes her space. If you’re looking for a single cat or have a very respectful cat at home, she would love to meet you!

More about this rescue
The Euclid Beach Cat Project is a 501(c)(3), non profit rescue group. We take in, socialize, vet and adopt out cats and kittens, as well as trap-neuter-return (TNR) and manage feral colonies. There are so many homeless, abandoned and vulnerable cats and kittens needing homes, medical care and to be spayed/neutered. We try to help as many cats find a home as we can. If they are feral, we practice TNR and make sure either a caregiver or someone with this rescue continues to provide for them.
