My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wind - Male DOB 7/25/2018 Domestic Short Hair Brown and White Tabby  -

Wind is a sweet and gentle boy in search of a patient and loving family. He and his sister, Rain, were adopted from our rescue in 2019 as bonded kittens. Both cats originally came to FuRRR after being rescued just in the nick of time before Hurricane Florence in SC. Though Wind (AKA Bobby) and Rain (AKA Timmy) enjoyed a home together these past five years, they were recently surrendered, due to no fault of their own.  Their owners got a dog which stressed them and made them scared and introduced unwanted behavior.  They are now both adjusting to life back at the rescue.

Wind was initially very fearful and anxious, but thanks to the devoted care of our volunteers, he has begun to enjoy attention, playtime, and exploring his surroundings. Wind delights in lounging around, giving head bunts, and flopping on the floor when he's seeking attention. He is playful and would thrive in a quiet home with no dogs, and respectful, older children would be ok.

Wind would do best as your only pet, although may be ok with another calm, quiet kitty.  His sister Rain is also wary of other cats, and as such, we do not recommend adopting them together at this time. It’s uncertain whether their current behavior is due to stress from their recent surrender or if there were issues before.

Wind needs a patient and understanding person who can provide him with the security and love he needs to truly flourish. In a stable and nurturing environment, Wind’s sweet personality will shine. With some treats and gentle encouragement (slow blinking at them), he will gradually open up and show his affectionate side. If you are ready to offer a devoted companion who will reward your patience with unconditional love, Wind is the perfect match for you.
