This little lizard traveled a long way to be with us! A homeowner found her in their garage, and, understandably concerned, called a wildlife rehab to come get her. When they got there, they realized that she was not wildlife at all!
Starstinger is a Ctenosaura, or a spiny-tailed black Iguana. She is young, estimated at about a year old, and weighs about a third of a kilo right now, but she's going to get much bigger. She's looking for a home with the space to allow her to grow.
Sadly, Starstinger had dropped her tail by the time she got to us. She's already started growing it back, though, and soon she'll have a full beautiful new tail to show off!
To learn more about our adoption process, please visit https://earps.org/adoption/adoption-process/.
If you are interested in adoptng this pet, please complete an application online at http://earps.org/adoption/adoption-application to apply!

Because our animals are in foster homes across central Indiana, we are only able to schedule meet & greets with pre-approved applicants. Anyone interested in adopting from our rescue should start with an application. A volunteer will contact you with followup questions to continue the process.

Exotic Animal Rescue and Pet Sanctuary (EARPS) is a central Indiana 501C(3) non-profit animal rescue group made up of volunteers working to help exotic pets, small companion animals, and non-traditional pets.
We coordinate with Indianapolis Animal Care Services, the Humane Society, and several shelters throughout Indiana and surrounding states, as well as local veterinary clinics to rescue and care for exotic pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, reptiles, birds and more.
Our network of volunteers and foster homes works to educate on the proper care of exotic pets, and we are working to control the pet population through spaying and neutering our adoptable animals whenever possible.
