Are you looking for a barn cat? This kitty was dumped in a crate and ended up at the Napa County Animal Shelter in the beginning of July. Because we don't know where it came from, they have nowhere to be released back to. They are not interested in affection from humans and their wild side is very apparent. They would do well as a barn cat or outdoor kitty once acclimated to your area.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
