Meet Lucky Duck: The Handsome Hunk with a eager to please
Name: Lucky
Age: 1.5 years old
Breed: DNA tested- Husky/Beagle
Vaccination Status:
Lucky is up to date on his vaccines, heartworm testing, until March 2025 ensuring his continued health and well-being. He is neutered, and microchipped.
Ideal Home:
Lucky is seeking a home where he can experience the comfort of love and affection from his humans, while also predictable routines throughout his day. He would do well as a walking/running partner, or just a companion for another doggo playmate. Lucky would do well with a fenced in yard, although through proper time for exercise, it’s may not be required.
Compatibility:
Lucky gets along well with young playful dogs, as well as dogs that can be tender and nurturing to continue to show him all the ropes about being a dog. He has a high prey drive, so cats, and small animals are not in Lucky’s future. It is believed Lucky could do well with dog savvy kids, but does not currently live with them now. Small children are not recommended as he likes to give hugs, and may knock them down. He loves ALL people, and loves to give kisses.
Special Needs:
We continue to work through some mild separation anxiety which is controlled through a predictable routine and daily medication. We do not believe Lucky will need to be on medication for the entirety of his life.
Grooming:
Lucky is part Husky and will require quarterly grooming appts as well as brushing at home, occasionally.
Training:
Lucky has made GREAT progress since coming to us! We continue to work on not hugging everyone we meet. He is currently working on different techniques to focus on his handler while distractions are happening around him. Lucky has learned he cannot instantly meet all the friends he sees. He has shown amazing successes!
Lucky is currently being fostered with his biological brother (and 3 other dogs) who was adopted last summer. By some coincidence we found Lucky at an area shelter, brought him into our care, DNA tested him and they matched! If considering adopting him, you’ll have a furever play date!
Lucky’s adoption fee is $300.

We find loving, responsible, committed permanent homes. An in-depth adoption process is used. This includes taking considerable care in finding perfect matches and educating potential adopters about the responsibilities of bringing a dog, especially that particular dog, into their life. Applications may take several days to process and you may not hear from a UU Board member for up to a few weeks at most.

More about this rescue
Unforgettable Underdogs Dog Rescue is a volunteer run non-profit and no-kill dog rescue serving Northeast Wisconsin. We are dedicated to rescuing the underdogs, those who have found themselves homeless. We strive to help dogs in public high-kill shelters, abandoned or dogs being abused or neglected.
Dogs we care for are spayed or neutered, treated for any medical needs they have, and placed into loving foster homes until they find their permanent home. We aim to help dogs in need without discriminating against age or breed as space in foster homes permit. As our finances allow, we aim to take on the most underdog of the cases and help dogs in the most need.
