My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yvie is a little fireball! When new situations arise, his flight instinct initially takes over. However, he quickly gets over it and explores away! Yvie loves to cuddle and roll around in your arms. If something is fluffy, he will suckle on it. It's his favourite self soother move.

Yvie adores the resident cat and dog in his foster home. While the senior resident cat often gets overwhelmed with Yvie constantly engaging with a good wrestle, a young cat who loves to play would be perfect! Another favourite activity is drinking and playing with water from the tap. This wonderful boy can't wait to meet you!

Must adopt as a buddy to another cat.

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
