My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member on July 26, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Kato, a handsome pup with beautiful eyes and a goofy personality that will melt your heart! This playful guy is full of energy and looking for an active companion to go on adventures with. He would thrive as the only pet in the home or with another social dog who loves to play. He has experience living with children, but due to his size and energy level he may do best with older children. If you can give Kato the exercise and affection he's looking for, he will reward you with loyal companionship and add joy to your life! Grab a leash and a collar and head to our El Cajon Campus to adopt Kato today.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
