Howdy, my name is Turner and I am in the market for a new home. I am an active boy who loves to run and explore the great outdoors; perhaps that is how I ended up as a stray at WCHS. I am looking for a family who is familiar with my breed so they understand my exercise needs and fun and quirky personality. I am a sensitive guy who can be a tad shy when I first meet someone but if they keep calm and take things slow, in no time we will be the best of buddies; I prefer a gentle scratch under the chin rather than a pat on the head. I truly enjoy a nice long walk or hike but must confess I am quite strong and pull a bit on a leash, especially when we are first starting out. I am curious about other dogs when out and about so when I see one, I try to run faster to catch up to them. I have met a fun, young pittie pooch at the shelter and we have a blast romping together in the courtyard. When I am out walking, I am not phased by passing cars and when I see joggers although I am curious, I do not react. However, I may wonder why they get to run and I am just walking; did I mention I am an energetic guy? I find birds fascinating and seem to have a natural instinct to chase them; my ancestors were developed as hunting dogs after all. Once I have been out walking or jogging for a while, I start to relax and enjoy the scenery and all the smells; I will take the opportunity to roll in the cool dewy grass. I know how to ‘sit' when asked as long as the cue is given clearly. It would be grand to have a job or two to help me burn some energy and put my wonderful mind to work. I am sure with patient and positive training I could excel at agility, obedience, nose work, dog parkour or rally; I am quite athletic and will thrive on vigorous exercise. I know we can be BFFs and I will make you proud because I will be eager to please and faithful forever. Stop by and check out how dynamic and brilliant I am.
