Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! My name is Mira, and I am a 1 year old, 16lb (beagle sized with very long legs!) Beagle/Papillon mix. I came into rescue with my litter of two week old puppies after my owner developed health issues and could no longer care for us. Though my owner meant well, things were starting to head for a bit of a hoarding situation as I lived with my mom and dad, and my 3 siblings. So before coming to my foster home, I lived in one house with the same person and dogs my entire life. As one might imagine given that situation, it was a big change for me, but my foster says she is so proud of how quickly I settled right in! The only way you would know I am at all different from a dog who came from a normal situation is I can be a tad shy when meeting new people (men have been noted to cause more shyness than women), however this is quickly overcome with gentleness and treats, I love those things!
On the topic of other dogs, my foster has noted I am much more confident and approach new situations easier when there is another dog in the house, so a home with at least one other dog would be best for me. Given my history and never knowing life without other dogs, it is an understandable thing! I currently with two other dogs, a 2 year old, and a 4 month old puppy and I do fantastic with both, my foster mom says you will not find a better dog to be with other dogs, I love to play with them, hang out with them, and peacefully exist with them, never giving a moment’s worry about causing any kind of conflict. I live with two cats and am sweet and friendly to them, and also do amazing with children!
Personality wise, you will not find a more people devoted dog than me! I want to be in your lap every second, truly if you don’t want a dog who is going to be on top of you and wanting to be inches from you at all times, then you will want to move along because I need that closeness to be my happiest! I love to give you all the gentle kisses and wiggle my tail whenever I see you! I have a soft, submissive personality and listen extremely well to kindness, it doesn’t take much to let me know I am doing something I am not allowed, I just want to please you every second and always do the correct thing! While a gentle dog, I am also quite active, loving to run top speed and play with both dogs and toys. I for sure need an outlet for my energy, though I am not hyper either, just have a need to move and run. One of my greatest joys besides being your most loyal friend is being with other dogs and doing whatever they do! I am both crate and house trained, and am starting to pick up on basic commands.
I will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $250 I will be ready to go to my new home Aug 23rd.
