Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you’re looking for cuddles, look no further. This sweet pocket pittie momma is the definition of snuggle time.
Flower wants to be everywhere her humans are; whether that’s curled up on your lap or at your feet in her bed. Her love language is human touch! She does not mind cats, and gives them their space (even when they bully her!)
Flower is crate trained and can be left alone for 4-6 hours (possibly longer) with no issue. She is a quiet momma who hasn’t barked once. She enjoys her food in her crate, as well as some quiet time when she pleases. She reliably uses her designated bathroom spot and is even learning to give us a nudge when she wants to be let out. She sleeps sound through the night and would likely sleep through the afternoon if we didn’t wake her up with us.
She continues to grow her leash skills day by day; one walk and she is zonked out for hours!
Flower is treat motivated - especially loves bananas, apples are blueberries- and is eager to please.
She has broken out of her shell quickly and would benefit from a confident dog to continue to show her the ropes, or be the center of attention!

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
