Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Wait until you hear this breed mix? Rocky is believed to be a golden retriever, cattle dog, Great Pyrenees mix. He was rescued from a shelter in Texas in September of 2022 and just turned 2 in May. He is neutered, micro chipped and up to date with all his shots. He completed one on one training with a trainer and knows all basic commands.
Rocky is a sweet, goofy, loving and affectionate pup! He is friendly with other dogs, does not have much experience with cats, loves kids but might be best living with an adult only family since he prefers a quieter low traffic household and an attentive owner.
Rocky's one challenging trait is that he has some territorial/protective instincts at home that make suburban dwelling with younger children too challenging. In his neighborhood people are coming and going from the home frequently, and they are concerned Rocky will make a mistake due to being overstimulated. He will thrive in a new home that is quieter with more available and more experienced owners.
Because of changing family circumstances, Rocky is in need of a new home. His current family wants him to have a better chance at a happy and relaxed life.
One of our volunteers spent some time with Rocky and says he is an absolute doll. We could discuss a foster situation for him prior to adoption commitment as well.
If you have interest in meeting Rocky or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
Thank you for considering rescue!
