My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fern is a member of Camp 6 litter. Her mom was a feral but trusting soul who let a kind woman bring her inside to have her kittens. Fern is as special as she is unique. Born with a corkscrew in her tail, the vet believes she suffered some trauma at birth or crowding in the womb. After all, there were six of them in that small space. As Fern has grown her balance continues to improve, although she might always have some balance challenges, she does not let anything slow her down and is oblivious to any obstacle. She can climb and jump like no other. She loves to put her toys in the water bowl. Spring toys are her favorite and anything she can throw in the air to chase. She is an excellent supervisor of box cleaning. This little girl has a big personality and lots of love to give. Would be fine as an only cat or with a cat buddy after proper introduction. Her birth date is February 22, 2024. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only.

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. A $50 deposit will hold the puppy of your choice. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.
