Well it’s about time that I moved out of my foster home and into a permanent home with my own family. I am really enjoying my foster home and I bet my new home will be even better. My foster mom says that I am a mix of Maine Coon, because of my personality, and Trash Panda, because of my eating habits. I know, right now you are trying to figure out what that looks like….so let me explain.
My foster mom tells me that I have similar characteristics to those big handsome cats called Maine Coon cats. I like to be around my foster family at all times. I’m not necessarily a lap cat but I will hang out on the couch or bed with my foster family and sometimes I like to lie on my foster mom’s chest while she is lying on the bed. I absolutely like attention of any kind (petting, brushing, being held and carried around).. I am very gentle when being handled and when I play. Now don’t get me wrong, I can take on all of my foster siblings and often instigate the wild wrestling matches. I have bursts of energy and then I like to chill and relax…maybe take a quick cat nap in a sun beam.
I love the water fountains (all four of them) and I like to lie near the shower when someone is in there so I can hear the water running. Sometimes after the water stops I jump inside and lick up some of the water. It might take me a few minutes to warm up to new people because I have to do a full background check with facial Id before I let you see me. It doesn’t take long so just be patient and give me a few minutes to show myself.
I am a pretty quiet guy and when I do have something to say I have a very soft meow. Not an ear-piercing meow like some of the big cats at my foster home. Now, the one time you can guarantee to hear me is when my wet food arrives! Speaking of food…..
I can be somewhat of a scavenger when it comes to food. I love food! I love wet food more than dry food but I eat both. I am constantly scanning the floors for little treat gems. When I get to go downstairs I immediately run to the places where the big cats eat their wet food so I can see if any bowls are still there, or if they left any crumbs on the floor. I then make my rounds to where their dry food is kept and have some snacks. This routine never gets old.
When my foster mom is standing by the sink I know she is preparing food so I gently rub my soft furry body on her legs and then stand there and wait. AND I love wet food so much that I purr while I’m eating it. Life is good when you get wet food.
I have a chill vibe and that is the kind of home I am seeking. When there is a lot of commotion I quietly excuse myself and find a quieter place to hang out. I’m not being unsocial, it’s just that, like I said, I’m a chill kind of guy. I get along great with other cats and I will need a friendly kitty pal to play with and to keep me company. I am still learning about a cat’s personal space so I kind of get right in their face to sniff them and if I get hissed at I just lie down and stare at them. I guess I’m not a quick learner when it comes to understanding personal space.
I will never win any awards for being the smartest feline that walked the earth and my foster mom has said that I’m not always firing on all cylinders, but I keep telling her that that is my chill vide she is experiencing… so we agree to disagree on exactly how smart I am. As I get older I just might surprise everyone. My foster mom says that I remind her of her Maine Coon Mix rescue kitty that she used to have. He was a big goofball and she loved him very much.
Are you ready for a handsome goofball in your life?
****HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER RESCUES/SHELTERS****
***WHY MISSION MEOW IS BEST TO ADOPT FROM:***
***Complete Information
You get to speak directly to the foster family who have the kittens in their care!
No one knows the kittens better than the people who have had them for the last several weeks or more. They will give you full details as to personality, background, quirks, likes/dislikes, ETC. Since adopting a pet is a commitment for the next 15-20 years, you want as much information as possible to make the best decision.
***Private, quiet meet & greets
You get to visit the kittens in their own current environment where they run free so their true personality shines through. Our kittens aren’t subjected to noisy stores and stressful cages and you won’t be competing with other annoying people for your desired kittens.
***Quality over Quantity
We are a small rescue so we can focus on each kitten individually to provide personalized medical & socialization protocols. Because we do not overcrowd, our cats do not pass contagious diseases to each other.
***Veterinary Care
We balance a mix of holistic & conventional protocols to keep our kittens healthy. We use high quality disease preventatives & medication when necessary. Mission Meow only wants the best medical care for our kittens, so we don’t skimp on those costs AT ALL. We work closely with our vet to come up with a plan for any kittens who may be ill and to prevent any unnecessary and over medicating. Three local veterinarians have adopted from us after observing the quality of our kittens.
***Food
Our kittens are nourished with high-quality food. We ‘ve been offered free /discounted food from other companies but we choose to use the best option even if it costs more for us.
***Resident Pet/Child Safety
While no one can guarantee the health of any living being, we do our best to make sure your adopted kitten does not have any issues such as parasitic worms that can be passed on to your resident pets or children. We have a very thorough deworming protocol using the best products on the market and the proper duration. Most places adopt kittens while they are in between showing signs of intestinal worms. Not us.
***Post Adoption Support
It is extremely rare that we have any issues post adoption, but if there were any that presented themselves, we would work with you towards a resolution. We pride ourselves on the one-on-one relationships we build with our adopters.

*****ADOPTION PROCESS:*****
APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs. if we think it's a potentially good match.
INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.
APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.
TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.
WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive. Thank you!
