Meet Smoky! We call her Elsa because she just doesn't look like a Smoky!
Elsa is a young dog who has shown incredible resilience and progress since being rescued from a hoarding situation. After spending over two months in our home, Elsa has blossomed into a sweet and loyal companion. Her journey has been nothing short of remarkable, and she’s ready to find her forever family.
Elsa is doing wonderfully with her potty training, an impressive feat given her challenging start in life. She has mastered basic commands, including sitting on cue and offering a "shake" of her paw before meals. Her loyalty is unwavering—once she bonds with you, she’ll be your steadfast buddy for life.
While Elsa is a bit timid and takes time to warm up to new people and dogs, she’s made great strides in her socialization. She gets along well with our dogs, although she’s still learning her doggy manners. Patience and gentle guidance will help her continue to improve in this area.
Elsa is comfortable in her crate at night and when left alone for errands, but she would prefer to snuggle up with her people if given the choice. She’s learned to signal her needs more clearly and now typically barks to be let out for potty breaks around 4:00 am, if needed. Her progress is a testament to her resilience—she no longer has the distressing behaviors that were once a survival mechanism.
Elsa’s perfect home would be with someone who is home most of the day and is eager to build on the foundation of love and training she has received. She’s ready to embrace new experiences and continue her journey of growth with a family that will cherish her gentle spirit and offer her the stability she deserves.
