Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Foster, Foster-to-Adopt, or Adopter Needed:
Butter is a 5-year-old terrier mix who is as sweet as her name sake. She is around 33 pounds and once she can overcome her fear, she wants nothing more than to be near you and give you kisses. She is a sleep-on-your-head type of dog. She came from a horrible situation as a puppy, kept in a crate crowded with her dead mother and siblings. That leaves a mark and she has always been a skittish and slow to trust dogs ever since. We need a patient foster, hopefully foster-to-adopt or adopter who can give her a few months to settle in to fully open up. Butter can be with other dogs, but must be dogs her size and smaller that are non reactive, or calm larger dogs. She has grown scared of some larger dogs after the 2 larger dominant dogs in her previous home started turning on her for her anxiety and attacking her viciously. She does perfectly well with the smaller and older dogs, snuggling and following them around. Butter loves to play with stuffies and squeaky toys. She is extensively trained, 5 weeks of boarded training, walks exceptionally well and loves her outdoor adventures and sunning herself. She is potty trained and truly a dream come true for a family who has patience for her. She would do better with an older family that is home and has experience gaining the love of a gentle soul like Princess Buttercup. She doesn't need a fenced yard as long as she is taken on daily walks. To add to her situation, a small mass on her side was just fond to have mast cells so she will need to have this removed urgently so someone who doesn't mind giving some extra TLC for recovery is needed. Costs of the surgery are covered by her previous family. Please consider Butter as a possible new addition to your family or as a foster. She is currently in a foster but due to no fault of her own, must be out no later than August 31. If a dog like Butter has to go to boarding, she may never recover emotionally or mentally. If you can open your heart and home to Butter, and you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.
