Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Walter's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Walter's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=007857) to learn even more about Walter!
Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Walter is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org.
Walter is the best of both worlds–older and wiser, and very happy and willing to be a couch potato all day, and also still has spurts of that YDE (young dog energy) when he will "chase" (i.e. plod after) balls, play tug-of-war with other dogs, and stand happily the moment the leash is clipped on. He is truly a perfect dog for someone who wants to give a senior the golden years he deserves. He is happy to snooze in his own bed on the floor, although if you are on the couch he will most likely be right next to you, soliciting love. He is 100% fully housebroken. We haven't been crating him because he does bark/whine in the crate–given his age, he's probably never been crated, and he is perfectly relaxed, quiet, and non-destructive when uncrated.
Walter has also been SO tolerant of the other dogs in the house - particularly the one year old puppy who just wants to play with him! I would guess that he could also live with cats. He does have some arthritis and we are starting anti-inflammatory meds. He can easily handle a few stairs right now, but probably shouldn't be/wouldn't be able to do a full set or more regularly.
If you're looking for a loving, low-maintenance, certified good boy, Walter is your (old) man.
