My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Lord Ruff is one of our current Arkansas Paws in Prison Foundation dogs! Please sh@re!

Lord Ruffenstein on his velvet throne. He’s puppy royalty, and he’s looking for a forever kingdom. He’s a social creature…loves to meet people and enjoys the company of other dogs. Ruff is a big-footed 7-month-old mixed breed. Looks like he could have yellow lab in him. Don’t have a weight on this handsome blonde dude, but he’s going to be lab-sized. As nice looking as he is in this photo, he’s even more handsome in person. He’ll be a great sidekick. And a loyal one!

Lord Ruff has been waiting a really long time to find a good home. He is very social with other dogs. He's friendly and good natured with everyone he meets. He's house, crate, and leash trained. He's excellent with other dogs and loves all people. And he's quite the looker! What more can you ask for in a pup?

Lord Ruff started at the Paws in Prison program on 10/23/24. While there, he will work daily with an inmate on the basics and maybe even a few tricks, and meet weekly with a dog trainer. In mid December he will graduate with his canine good citizen certificate and will be ready to go to a new home!

Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays
Port Jervis, NJ 5am Fridays
Southington, CT 8am Fridays
East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays

More about this rescue

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporter we use most often Pack Leaders (www.plrdogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
