Hi there, meet Little Larry! He has the bluest eyes you have even seen. Larry is four years old and exploring the world for the first time. Sights, sounds, smells and crowds are all new environments for Larry but he is jumping right into this new world and conquering any fear. Did I mention he is quick to learn and adapt? At four years old, Larry learned to `sit` and `crate` within a week. I forgot the toys! Larry is quite the collector of toys and in his free time enjoys moving his collection all around the house and eventually back into his toy box.
Little Larry looks forward to snuggling, walking, car rides with adventures and being goofy to provide a good laugh. He has been paired with many kennel mates before being fostered. Within his foster home he bonded quickly with the foster`s larger dog. Almost every night they snuggle on the same bed (out of choice)! With that being said, Larry would require a meet and greet with any potential canine companion(s) and/or would thrive in a household being the only pup.
Larry is looking for his forever home where he can fully open up and build his confidence in his new world. He has truly opened up and is thriving away from the shelter. So many things to smell and explore. Will you be his next chapter?

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
