Meet Canelo, a special pup looking for a quiet, loving home where he can truly be himself. Rescued from the streets of Mexico in July, Canelo has some hearing and vision challenges, but that doesn't slow him down. He loves being outdoors, especially exploring and wandering the fenced yard, and playing with his favorite toys.
Canelo is an independent dog who tends to keep to himself. While he's not particularly a lap dog, he would thrive in the company of other dogs. He would do best in a home with other dogs who can be his companions and offer him comfort. Canelo can sometimes feel anxious and may pace when unsure, but with the right environment and routine, he will feel more secure.

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.
Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
