My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cheech and Chong, an inseparable pair of lovable little furballs who are looking for their forever home! Found together as strays, these two are more than just adorable-they're a bonded duo who rely on each other for comfort and companionship.

Cheech is a charming chihuahua mix with a distinctive rusty red coat. His small stature belies a big personality that's full of warmth and affection. Cheech's bright eyes and gentle demeanor make him an instant friend to everyone he meets.

Chong is Cheech's shaggy sidekick, with a dark, tousled coat that gives him a scruffy, lovable look. His playful spirit and easygoing nature complement Cheech perfectly, making them a well-matched pair both in looks and temperament.

These two were found together and no one came to reclaim them, so they've become quite the pair of best friends. Their bond is evident in the way they interact-they are always close, whether snuggling up for a nap or playing together. Because they are so attached to each other, Cheech and Chong need to be adopted as a pair.

Cheech and Chong are not only sweet and friendly, but they also bring a sense of joy and togetherness wherever they go. Their perfect match of personalities means they'll make a fantastic addition to a loving home that can offer them the companionship they cherish.

If you're ready to open your heart and home to this dynamic duo, Cheech and Chong will bring endless affection and joy into your life. Come meet them today and see for yourself how wonderful life can be with these two lovable best friends by your side!

More about this shelter

Northshore Humane Society is one of Louisiana's largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organizations. Since 1953, we have been serving the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region. We are an independent, non-governmental rescue that offers veterinary care, fostering, adoption, and more. We rely solely on the support of caring people like you to fund our programs and services which profoundly benefit the animals of our community. Thank you for all of your support!

Our Mission:
To be the premier organization dedicated to enhancing and saving the lives of pets in the Northshore region through community engagements, adoption, spay and neuter programs, and sheltering.

Our Vision:
To lay the foundation for a no-kill nation. To learn more about a no-kill nation, we suggest visiting www.nokilladvocacycenter.org.

What We Do:
Adoptions: Each year, we rescue, care for and find loving homes for homeless animals in our community.

Veterinary Care:
Our community clinic provides excellent veterinary care to both our rescue pets and to beloved family pets. All funds raised through our clinic directly impact the care of the homeless animals of our rescue.

Foster:
Our foster families open their homes to homeless animals who are too young, sick or scared to be immediately adopted.

Volunteer:
Hundreds of volunteers take on a variety of tasks to help care for and promote our animals, assist administration, and represent NHS at community events, allowing more time for our staff to do their jobs efficiently.

Low-Cost Pet Health:
Through grant and corporate partners, we are able to provide a variety of low-cost pet care to people in need. These include low-cost spay/neuter opportunities, microchipping, vaccinations and more!
