My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Spring kittens are officially ready for adoption! These six black kittens were named via our Instagram, via a naming competition. They've been waiting patiently to be old enough to go to the cafe, and they're ready to meet you! Spring Onion and Spring to Mind (both boys), are playful and cuddly kittens, who look slightly different so you will always be able to tell them apart.

One thing's for sure, these kittens are incredibly sweet and loving, really the perfect kittens! They love to play with you and with one another, and once they're tired out they can't wait to take a little nap and enjoy some cuddles. They've been handled since they were very young kittens so they are very tolerant. If you are a lover of black cats, look no further! The Spring Kittens are here!

Spring to Mind has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and would benefit from an echocardiogram -- we would appreciate it if their potential adopter could help us cover this cost in lieu of an adoption donation.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
