Maple ACCT-A-170010 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Maple is a sweet, 6 year-old guy who was abandoned in the lobby of another shelter. Since he's been at ACCT, he's been gentle and sweet, but unfortunately has severe periodontal disease and will require more immediate dental care (cleaning and extractions) either performed through the shelter at an offsite facility or via rescue.
Medical notes:
8/9 Oropharyngeal: severe generalized gingivitis; moderate gingival recession, more severe along premolars; heavy dental tartar and plaque.
In kennel, Maple is shy, but loves being pet on his head and around his ears, evening throwing his weight into your hand. He's a chunky guy, but we know that his teeth are making him uncomfortable. We would like to see him get the dental care he needs to really start the next chapter.

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services.
