Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Primo! Primo is a sweet almost 2 year old, 50 pound year old Pittie mix.
If you're looking for a dog to do things with, Primo is your guy! He has a manageable amount of energy BUT would do best in a home that would enjoy filling his basic needs before giving him the world! Walks, play, naps and then training would be a bonus because he's super smart and LOVES the learning game.
Primo's only downfall is him displaying puppy like behaviors in a 50lb body! He's mouthy, but with no bad intentions. A routine truly is the key to his success, and his foster family has been working hard with him on things like patience and manners. Once he's set in a routine and settled in, he'll become the best boy. A place where someone is home more often than not may be best for him. He's completely crate trained, walks well on leash more often than not and LOVES toys. He can easily entertain himself but would rather play with you!
He's been nothing but wiggly and kind to everyone he meets both big and small, but we think a house with older children would be best just because of his exuberance! He's indifferent to other dogs on walks and when close, he displays friendly behavior, but because of how bouncy and goofy he is, he would do best as the only dog in the home. We do think he'd probably enjoy some dog buds in the neighborhood! If you're truly a dog person, his name fits him. He's Primo!
Primo is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. His adoption fee is $425.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
