From her foster: Jackie is such a great dog - we are really enjoying having her and are very surprised she hasn't been adopted yet. Do you want an adorable four legged friend to walk with, play fetch with, and curl up on the couch for some off the charts snuggles? Jackie is your gal. Here are some highlights.
- She loves kids - does so well with them. We don't have kids but her previous foster had 4 so she's a pro. She also does well with other dogs and cats but chickens (from her first foster) are a no-go for this gal.
- She's a perfect combination of snuggly, playful (still a puppy!), and independent. She doesn't tend to get into shoes, the garbage, etc., but may explore a little here and here. Otherwise she generally knows what is a dog toy and what is to be left alone. She loves to piece apart a toy and you just have to watch to make sure she's not eating any pieces of it. I think long term she will be a mid energy dog. Sometimes she likes to be right next to you, sometimes she likes to be in the room next to you to have some quiet time. Truly a great combo.
- We go for a mid afternoon walk every day and she loves exploring the neighborhood. She's great in a harness/leash although some actual leash training would be a good idea in time.
- She is great in the car. She rides with our resident dog in the back seat and is nice and calm.
- She is crated at night and stays quiet. During the day she has breaks in her crate and quiets down after a couple of minutes.
- She has the most unique coloring - any any moment she looks like she's dark gray, black, or chestnut brown, depending on the lighting. She's a looker!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
