My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calypso is a vibrant and spirited 5 to 6-year-old calico with a personality as colorful as her beautiful coat. This affectionate feline loves nothing more than to snuggle up on your lap or perch on your shoulder, making her the perfect companion for cozy evenings and lazy weekends.

Super spunky and escape artist Calypso has a strong independent streak and prefers to be the center of attention, so she would thrive best in a home where she can be the sole Princess. She doesn’t get along well with other cats, but with humans, she’s a bundle of love and joy.

Rest assured, Calypso is in excellent health. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, ready to bring her playful energy and loving nature into her new home. She does need a Lanai.

If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion who will fill your life with warmth and affection, Calypso is the cat for you. The adoption fee is a donation to our rescue, and the amount is at your discretion. Manatee, Hillsborough, Sarasota, and Pinellas counties only. Apply to adopt her online at https://www.duetteanimalrescueteam.org/online-adoption-application, and give this wonderful cat the loving home she deserves. Thank you for caring.

More about this rescue

We founded the Duette Animal Rescue Team (DART) in 2020 in Manatee County. DART is a volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing former domestic and exotic pets such as prosimians and cats with behavioral challenges. We learned about the plight for exotic pets held in captivity and lack of understanding of the care they need as wild animals. We support causes that advocate for the conservation of these species in the wild in their native countries. By working with a network of zo's, private owners, zoo staff volunteer advocates, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, trainers, and shelters,
DART strives to rescue animals and provide these animals with behavioral rehabilitation and care. We catch cats to assist with the management of stray cat overpopulation in the community. We rehabilitate the cats so that we can put them up for adoption and have a better quality of life. For example, cat litter box training and socialization.
