My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bailey, a gentle giant with a heart of gold and a mellow spirit. His demeanor speaks volumes about his loving nature. Foster mom and dad cannot say enough good things about this boy.
Bailey is a couch potato with the occasional zoomies for fun. He loves to just hang out and sunbathe and stretch out those long legs. He really is a very easy dog and just wants to be loved. He is good with dogs and cats. He has not had much exposure to small dogs but when he plays it can be rough because he is so big, so not small dogs in his new family just for their safety. He is living with two cats now and he pays them no attention. He loves to go for walks but sometimes he will bark at other dogs and we are working with a trainer to help with his reactions to make them more positive. Otherwise, he walks well on the leash and because of his size that is important. He loves riding in the car with his head out of the window and he loves to walk at the lake and watch the sunset. He enjoys watching the Phillies, Eagles or whatever you want to watch. He will snuggle next to you on the couch if you want and sometimes puts himself to bed when he is tired. He loves his naps. He goes to work some days with his foster dad and is the perfect office assistant. He has such a silly side and when he runs, he looks like a race horse, maybe not as graceful, lol. He is house trained, up to date on his vaccines and neutered. He is ready to love his new family and cannot wait to meet them. Older children preferred as Bailey is a large dog and likes a quieter home.

Additional adoption info

Once you are approved we will start looking for your new dog. If you are already interested in a particular dog, your application will be submitted for that dog and if it's a good fit you can be matched with that dog. We will set up a meeting with the dog and if all goes well at the meeting you will take the dog home to start a two week pre-adoptive period. If all goes well in the two weeks, we will come out and finalize the adoption.

More about this rescue

Jax's Labrador Retriever Rescue was founded to rescue Labrador Retrievers, Lab Mixes and other sporting breed dogs from the heart-breaking conditions of shelters. Our particular focus is on less "Labby" looking mixes, harder to place dogs, and those that have a more difficult time getting adopted, but absolutely deserve the chance to escape the shelter and find a safe and loving home. Anyone who has ever owned a Lab or Lab mix knows how precious they are, and the positive impact these dogs make on the families who rescue them. With your help, we can end the dismal cycle of abandoned and abused shelter dogs, and place these dogs in the safe environment where they belong.
