My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING.

All info is provided by dogs caretaker we do not know this dog please verify all information prior to committing on this dog.

PS...  I know the caretaker well and do believe what she says is true.

I am seeking assistance for a medical/health evaluation and finding a forever home for a bi-color (black and tan) Chihuahua mix that was left with the front desk of a residential hotel located in Pleasanton. Details as far as I know: Owner has diabetes and will have a leg amputation surgery in Hawaii where owners' family is located. The owner left the bay area on Friday 7/12/2024 to move to Hawaii to be taken care of by family.  Per hotel staff, the owner was planning to leave the dog with a person and that did not work out. Thus, the owner surrendered the dog to the hotel housekeeper and front desk attendant before he got on a plane.  Dog was reported to be 8yrs old (Despite looking older, maybe 11 years). Appears to be in good spirits and no pain. Looks like double cataracts and one 1/4' cyst or lipoma located on right side approximately 1' laterally on her spine midway on her back. Needs dental work.  Dog friendly/indifferent on walks (not sure if vision plays a role). Only barks when needs to be let out for potty. And very easily walked on a loose leash. Enjoys car rides and sleeps through the night for 10 hours. Takes multiple naps per day. Does not consistently respond to name Kope (pronounced Ko-Pay meaning Hawaiian for Coffee).  Responds to whistle sound. Potty trained. No fleas. Poops daily. Eats two times per day. No food aggression observed. Approximate weight is 10-11lbs.

More about this rescue

Whiskers, Tails and Ferals is a network of volunteers and foster families caring for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens who have been abandoned, are feral, or are facing the threat of being euthanized at an animal shelter.
All dogs and cats that come into our program are spayed or neutered. Felines are FeLV and possibly FIV, vaccinated, wormed (as needed) and micro-chipped.
All sick animals are immediately put under the care and supervision of a Napa veterinarian and Whiskers, Tails and Ferals pays for their medications.
The cats and kittens that are not able to be tamed, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and returned to their colonies where colony guardians continue to feed and care for them.
