My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:4/19/2023

Description:

Hi, I'm Sgt. Tibbs! Just like my namesake from the film The Aristocats, I'm a tabby cat with large golden eyes, and although I may startle easily, I'm a loyal and loving friend. I'm slowly adjusting to the indoor life and all its sights and sounds. I've had a rough go of it as I grew up on the streets and was bullied by other cats. One of my colony buddies, Friend, was always nice to me though and we were rescued together. I still love bird-watching from a window, but I'm so excited to be an indoor-kitty from now on! I would enjoy snuggling with you during a nap, chasing a fun wand toy or a fuzzy ball, or playing in a pop-up cube. I also love having my own hiding place; I found this great spot in my foster mom's bookcase that allows me to view my surroundings from up high. I would appreciate living with another cat, like my buddy Friend, who will be kind, play with me, and help build my confidence, but I'm content to be solely your world as well! You'll know I'm happy when you see me do my half-somersault to ask for pets!

Words to Describe Me: curious, loving, timid (at first), sweet, playful

Favorite Place to Sleep: under furniture, middle shelf of a tall bookcase, on top of a cardboard cat scratcher

Favorite Toy: glittery pom pom balls, wand toys

Perfect Day: My perfect day starts with breakfast; I have a can of Nulo (duck & tuna recipe) to start my early morning. I don't mind receiving some pets while I'm eating and I may even give you a soft "meow" or two. Next, I'm ready to burn some energy; you can find me running up and down the hallway or batting around one of those glittery pom pom balls. Once I'm ready for my daytime nap session, I'll find a cozy spot away from the household activity--maybe under a chair or on the middle shelf of a tall bookcase. I will probably nap most of the day. If you come find me at dinner time, I'll give you a couple soft "meows". In the evenings, I enjoy having a lot of playtime! I love chasing down the hallway, playing hide-and-seek, and gentling wrestling with my kitty pal, Friend. My bedtime is usually around 10pm, and a few snuggles and pets are welcomed. You may still hear me playing on my own, but I'll be quiet enough for you to sleep!

Kitty's Likes: pets, belly rubs, being held like a baby, play time, tinsel pom pom balls, wand toys

Kitty's Dislikes: be held when there are loud, scary noises or situations

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: talk sweetly to me & give me pets or head kisses; wait for me to do my half-somersault and then rub my belly

Favorite Treat: Churus

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
