My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:4/19/2023

Description:

Hi, I'm Sgt. Tibbs! Just like my namesake from The Aristocats, I'm a tabby with large golden eyes and a loyal, loving personality. I've adjusted to indoor life and all its wonders. I had a tough start on the streets, where I was bullied by other cats, but I was lucky to have a friend in my colony who looked out for me, and we were rescued together. He found his fur-ever home, not it’s my turn. I love birdwatching as an indoor cat, especially with my new friend Vesper Sparrow! I also enjoy snuggling during naps, chasing wand toys or fuzzy balls, and playing in a pop-up cube—sometimes with friends and sometimes on my own. You’ll know I’m happy when I do my half-somersault to ask for pets!

Words to Describe Me: curious, loving, timid (at first), sweet, playful

Favorite Place to Sleep: under furniture, middle shelf of a tall bookcase, on top of a cardboard cat scratcher

Favorite Toy: glittery pom pom balls, wand toys

Perfect Day: Wet food, spending time with my friend Vesper and my humans.

Kitty's Likes: pets, belly rubs, being held like a baby, play time, tinsel pom pom balls, wand toys

Kitty's Dislikes: be held when there are loud, scary noises or situations

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: talk sweetly to me & give me pets or head kisses; wait for me to do my half-somersault and then rub my belly

Favorite Treat: Churus

Job Title in Foster: Best Friend

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: a mentor for other kitties

Other Info: I've been told I am a very handsome boy!

About Vesper:

Approximate Date of Birth: 05/25/2024

Description:

Meet Vesper, a charming and affectionate little guy who will become your most loyal companion with a bit of trust-building. He loves being cradled like a baby and enjoys tummy rubs, once he feels comfortable with you, he’ll actively seek out those moments of closeness. Vesper is also very playful and thrives in the company of other cats, especially his bonded friend, St. Tibbs. This unique duo formed a special bond at a cat café in Mesa. Vesper loves to make biscuits on Tibbs, and in return, Tibbs has been teaching him the ropes of being a proper house cat.

Words to Describe Me: Playful, intelligent, fiesty

Favorite Place to Sleep: Kitten pile with my brothers

Favorite Toy: Balls and wand toys!

Perfect Day: My perfect day starts with a soft food breakfast. Then bring on the toys! I love wrestling with my brothers until we are all exhausted. I will then need my cat nap. After resting I'm ready for another play session.

Kitty's Likes: Gentle Pets and Treats!

Kitty's Dislikes: N/A

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Pets and Treats!

Favorite Treat: Soft food

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
