Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Some Hey there I'm Louie and I'm here to charm my way into your heart and home! Let me tell you a little about myself. First things first, I'm a big fan of food and treats. I mean who isn';t right? Lucky for you, this makes me super easy to train! When it comes to walks, I'm a pretty easygoing guy. I don't pull much, and I love taking my time to sniff all the sniffs along the way. Ive got some basic training under my belt. Ask me to show you my sit, down, spin, and shake! Potty training? Nailed it! Just be sure to pay attention to my cues. I'm working on solidifying some more commands but I'm a quick learner, so I'll get there in no time. Fun fact: Im SO food motivated that when I see my food bowl, Ill actually RUN into my crate and will eat all my meals in my crate with the door closed. If you work from home, I may just be the pup for you. Im a great WFH buddy. If youve got a dog bed (or couch!) in your office, Ill just curl up and snooze while you work. I wont bother you during any meetings/calls. Naps are my second favorite thing, (after food of course!), but I've got plenty of zest for life. I love playing with other dogs, running, fetch, tug, and wrestling! I love going on long walks and being outside. Do you like being outdoorsy? Me too! Bonus, this drains my energy. After a long walk or run, I'm more than happy to cuddle up and snooze next to you on the couch. Despite my size, I can curl up into a tiny little croissant! Overall, I'm a leash-trained, crate-trained, playful, affectionate and eager-to- please pup. I get along great with other dogs. So, if youre looking for a goofy and loving companion to join your family, Im your guy! My foster guardian says: He is a handsome chap about 9 months old SMART as heck and wild about snacks. Although hes still of puppy age, he doesnt really have any of the usual puppy antics he doesnt chew on shoes and is fully house trained. If you want to get a peek into my day-to-day life, come check me out on my foster sisters Instagram @Vixie.and.Luna" Likes: Food, treats, sniffing, exploring the outdoors My ideal home: Im adaptable to new environments, I do well in the city and in the suburbs. A house would be best and bonus if theres a yard for me to play in! Additional adoption info
Adoption area is Washington, D.C area, including Northern Virginia and Maryland. All adoptions require a completed adoption application. Our adoption coordinators will contact you soon after reviewing the application. Our adoption fee is $450 to help off set the costs of rescuing dogs in need. All dogs go to their new homes spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, wormed (although a 2nd worming may be required), started on heart worm and flea and tick preventative and sometimes microchipped.
Although we try to be as accurate as possible, Rural Dog Rescue cannot guarantee the breed or full-grown adult size of any of the dogs or puppies in its care. Because many of these dogs were found as strays or are the result of irresponsible, unplanned breeding, we do not know the dog's exact background and can only list breed and size by our best educated guess. If exact breed and size are important to you, please consider adopting a dog from a specific breed rescue. We want our dogs to be adopted by people who will love and care for them forever for who they are - no matter what breed and size they turn out to be!

Mission Statement: Forever true to The Underdog, Rural Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in shelters who are often overlooked for adoption or rescue.
