My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lonnie!
Lonnie is a charming 2-year-old terrier/poodle mix with some SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS to ensure his HAPPINESS. He MUST HAVE a confident dog buddy in the home, cannot be crated alone, and needs a yard without chain-link fencing, as he's a skilled climber.
This ultimate scruffy pup has a unique look-wiry hair on his face, wavy fur on his body, and a fluffy curly-Q tail. At 22 pounds, Lonnie would fit well in a house or apartment. He loves toys, is good on a leash, and though he's still working on housebreaking and basic commands, he's eager to please. After a tough start in life, he's ready to find his forever home with the right family!

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
