My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Potato or "Tator" as my foster family calls me! I am an 81lb, handsome 9 year old chill, goofy, boxer boy that is part of the Silver Heart program! Be sure and ask about it because there are many perks for my adoptive family! Not much is known about my history except that I was brought to the rescue from a shelter, at the transition kennel for about 3 weeks, and now in my foster home! During my neuter it was found that I had a small mass on my tongue near the back of my throat but it does not bother my eating, drinking, or breathing. I have slight issues in my back legs at times but am taking joint supplements in the event that it is arthritis. I am crate trained (but I am trusted to free roam the house at all times), house trained, leash trained, and know basic commands! My teeth and gums aren't in the best shape but I don't let it bother me from enjoying a beggin strip, tortilla, or pup cup! I am good with the human teens in the home, get along well with the resident boxer/pitty girl, but am said to not be a fan of cats, so I need a cat free home! I have very short play periods which include pawing at/bouncing around with the resident dog or rolling around in the grass. I like to play with the dog toy stuffies and am good at not destroying them. I spend more time laying on the couch sleeping or watching out of the front office windows than I do playing. My absolute favorite thing to do is lay outside in the grass and sunshine! I will lay outside as long as the humans let me!  I'm a bit picky with treats and food, but am learning they are all good for me! At night I sleep well on a dog bed in the humans bedroom or on the couch in the living room. My foster mom says I am a "joy to have in the home" and I think so too! If you are looking for a low energy boy that would be fine as an only dog or with a low key dog companion and would enjoy accompanying you for a nap or outside to tend to a garden, look no further! Contact the rescue today and let them know you are wanting to meet Silver  Heart Potato because I am waiting to meet you!
