My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Skidmore, Texas
DOB: 4/15/2023

Step right up and meet Kimani, the big-hearted goofball who's as gentle as a breeze and as playful as a puppy. Her love for squeaky toys is legendary—give her one, and you'll witness pure joy. But it's not just squeakers; Kimani is a toy enthusiast, delighting in every bounce and jiggle.

Kimani isn't one to cling; she has an explorer's spirit, wandering the countryside with a wagging tail and a curious nose. She's a social butterfly, flourishing with human interaction and eager to bestow puppy kisses that might just leave you squeaky clean!

Although she's still a puppy at heart, Kimani's energy knows no bounds. She's a lap dog in spirit, if not in size, weighing in at a svelte 81 pounds. She has a zest for life (and a hearty appetite!) and is growing to match her magnificent personality.

When it's time to relax, Kimani is all about cozy TV lounging, transitioning from a vivacious rover to a tranquil couch potato. She's an ideal buddy for a leisurely afternoon, curled up and content.

At her current residence, Kimani is the star of the show, socializing with five canine pals and a duo of feline acquaintances. Her fascination with cats is as immense as her heart—she's gentle and would adore a cat cuddle, if they were willing!

Kimani excels in potty training, maintaining order during lengthy workdays without any accidents. She's fine with a leash, though she prefers the liberty to wander at her leisure.

Car rides? Kimani loves them! Just open the door, and she'll jump into the passenger seat, eager for the next escapade. And when she craves some extra affection, she'll communicate with an earnest "woof!"

Kimani is more than a pet; she's a steadfast companion, a friend, and a fountain of amusement. If you're in search of a devoted partner ready for anything from outdoor adventures to cozy snuggles, Kimani is your girl.

All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
