My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Yorda

Breed: Lab/Shepherd Mix

Gender: Female

About Yorda: Introducing Yorda, a 2.5-year-old female Lab/Shepherd Mix who’s brimming with playful energy and a heart full of love. Yorda is an active and adventurous girl who’s eager to explore the world and share her vibrant spirit with a loving family.

Yorda’s intelligence and enthusiasm make her truly exceptional. She’s a fast learner who thrives on treats, toys, and affection. Her playful nature and love for walks and exploration mean she’s always ready for an adventure. Whether she’s chasing a ball or cuddling up for some quality time, Yorda’s heart lights up in the company of people and other dogs.

Her ideal home is one with an active person or family who enjoys outdoor activities and social interactions. Yorda would thrive in a household where she can join in on daily walks and playdates with other dogs. She’s also a great fit for a family with kids, as her affectionate and friendly demeanor makes her a perfect companion for all ages.

Yorda’s rescue story is one of resilience and hope. Born in the wooded outskirts of Guadalajara, she and her siblings were initially cared for by a compassionate local who provided food and support for their feral mother. As the puppies dwindled in number due to the dangers of the wild, a group of rescuers stepped in to save Yorda, her mom, and her two remaining siblings.

While her siblings were successfully adopted in the Washington area, Yorda was given a chance for adoption in Guadalajara. Unfortunately, after a year, her initial family decided they no longer wanted her. Thankfully, her dedicated rescuer took her back, giving Yorda another chance to find her forever home in the Seattle area where she truly belongs.

If you’re looking for a spirited, intelligent, and loving companion who will bring joy and adventure into your life, Yorda is the perfect match. Apply today and give this remarkable girl the forever home she’s been waiting for!

They are currently in Mexico awaiting a family committed to a 10-day trial. If interested, please apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org. The adoption fee is $550 and includes up-to-date vaccines, a negative heartworm test, spaying/neutering, and microchipping.
