My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

⭐️NOTE: To inquire about our adoption process or for questions/additional information about Lollipop, please call 269-209-7278 and leave a message.⭐️
ABOUT Lollipop: She is a little shy but such a sweet cat who loves treats, soft beds and gentle touches. She's very quiet and reserved in a shelter environment. You can typically find her napping. She prefers to be approached ins one of her "safe places" like a cubby. She loves affection and doesn't turn down a good back scratch. She is looking for a forever home that will show her she is loved. Lollipop would be best suited in a home without children. She has not been tested with dogs. She does get along with other cats. Her perfect companion would be a seasoned cat owner who knows the importance of allowing a cat who has lived in a shelter a long time the space and patience to adjust to a new environment. Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Adoption fee is $80.00. (Grey with cream and a soft peach-like color.)

Date of birth: 06/15/2016

Good with dogs = Unknown
Good with children = No (Teens maybe)

Please understand, Companion Cats is made up of volunteers. Arrangements will need to be made to view our adoptable cats and kittens in person. Our adoption fee is $80.00 for one cat or $120.00 for two. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue cat. Follow us on Facebook, @companioncatsinc

UPDATE: Lollipop had an oral condition known as Stomatitis. It is very painful and often times requires the extraction of teeth (in severe cases a full-extraction is required.) Lollipop had her oral surgery on March 24 and continues to be recovering nicely. She has made a full recovery and is now available for adoption. She looks amazing now! What a difference this procedure has made. I almost didn't recognize Lollipop one day at the shelter. Her fur is so healthy and she's gained the perfect amount a weight. This is why we are so driven to make certain the cats that need dentals get them. Their quality of life is so greatly improved. We are so happy for Lollipop.

More about Companion Cats' "Project Relief" Fundraiser:
Companion Cats had over a dozen cats in need of dental procedures. While we have been able to raise the funds to get ten dental procedures for our cats we are still promoting a fundraiser for at least six additional cats so each can get the lifesaving procedures done. The sooner we are able to raise the funds required, the sooner we can schedule each cats’ appointment. Some of the cats have very painful oral conditions, like stomatitis while others have bad teeth (literally rotting.) Without getting the dental work done, the cats will suffer... and suffering isn’t an option. If you are interested contributing: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/dental-project-relief

The following cats have had the necessary, life saving dental procedures completed: Braxton, Leopold, Mookie, Lollipop, Phoebe, Delilah, Thunderpaws, Curtis, Hutch and Sophie.
The following cats are still in need of dental procedures: Faith, Goldie, Tannon, Velvet, Winnie and Valentino.

Additional adoption info

The first step in the process of adopting a pet from Companion Cats is to complete an adoption application. It provides information that enables us to assist you in the selection of a pet. Together, we will be able to determine if the adoption is in the animal’s best interest, and the process ensures that you will find an animal well-suited to your lifestyle.

Our $80.00 adoption fee for Adult cats (or $120.00 for two) and $100 adoption fee for Kittens (or $150 for two) includes the cost for general care while being fostered, microchipping, age appropriate vaccinations, testing for FIV/FeLV, and spaying or neutering of the animal. To be considered as an adopter, you must:

*Be at least 18 years old
*Have a valid driver’s license or Michigan Identification Card stating your current address
*Provide the name and phone number of your veterinarian
*Have the knowledge and consent of a landlord, if relevant (also provide the name and phone number of your landlord)
*Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide medical treatment, proper nourishment and care, as well as, training for a pet

Call 269-569-4152 to begin the adoption process.

NOTE: We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone. No animal will be adopted to persons who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption applications.

More about this shelter

Companion Cats is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of volunteers. Our mission is to spay or neuter and find suitable homes for unowned cats, thus ending the suffering of abandoned and homeless cats living on the streets.

Once spayed our goal is to place them in an environment that best fits each cat. This method provides the most humane living situation possible. Both friendly and feral alike deserve the perfect forever home. If the cat is not very friendly but is homeless, perhaps this means being a “Barn Buddy” or being introduced into a controlled colony. If feral kittens are found, it might mean living in a volunteer foster home where they can be socialized until old enough to be tested for FIV & FeLV, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated prior to adoption
