My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut is a very relaxed, cat and settled in to our two cat, two dog home within 12 hours. She formed a strong bond with my male cat and they have a great time playing and snuggling. When I pick Peanut up. I am struck at how relaxed she is and I have never felt her body tense up. She still has a lot of kitten in her and loves to bite or chase your toes under blankets when you are in bed. She has also been known to bat my legs or feet as I walk by and she is just being playful. She is very comfortable around my two dogs and tries to engage in play with them as well. My female cat was slow to warm up to Peanut and was not always kind to her. Peanut was never aggressive with her and has always been cautious and respectful. She backs down to my female cat and does not challenge her head position in the household. When Peanut first came to our house, she was much more interested in the humans and she bonded with my son right away. Over the time she has been with us, she has become more interested in the cats and less affectionate with us. She does love, however, to be played with and chases our long string on a stick cat toy. She also loves small stuffed animals and carries them around like prey in her mouth. Peanut does tend to over eat, and has put on a fair amount of weight in her time with us. This has never been a problem with my other cats and I’ve found that she eats their food if I’m not paying close attention. I did have another tortoiseshell cat in the past and she was overweight as well, so I’m not sure if this is a trait with that breed. I have an outdoor mesh tent and tunnel system on my back deck for the cats. At first peanut was terrified of it, but she has grown to like spending time in there chasing insects on nice days. We love Peanut very much and she would make a great addition to any household I think she would be quite lonely if she were the only pet in the house. When she is in a deep sleep, she will stick her tongue out. She never felt like a Little Bit to us and after trying to come up with many names for her Peanut was what stuck.
