My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

MACK  was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on Saturday 3rd August.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue.

We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page.

Mack is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of July 2021 and at the beginning of August weighed around 60 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind.

Mack is a dog that LOVES everyone he meets and he just wants to meet everyone be that human or canine. He has been great since being here at the rescue, extremely loving and affectionate, he is a little agile, very responsive, seems to know sit and most likely a few other basic commands. He does have longer hair that will require brushing. He is such a great dog, active, loving, responsive and as I say literally LOVES everyone. Mack was scheduled to be euthanized the day after we were able to put a hold on him, he literally was 24 hours away from death and we are so happy to have saved this larger than life happy boy.

We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.    He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life.

Mack has a reduced adoption fee of $250 to hopefully find his family and get him in the home he deserves.

Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend.

Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.

More about this rescue

Founded by Jenny an English woman who found her way to Texas on 14th February 2011 in San Antonio, Texas we saved dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas.

In July 2015, Jenny relocated herself and the rescue to the beautiful state of Maine, it's weather and people much like that of her home in Northern England.

We still save dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas where dogs have just 3 days to be saved. We vet them, they have veterinary examination and are issued with health certificates and then transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine.
